wired guide
wired is a libc-free TLS 1.3 / QUIC / HTTP/3 / WebTransport / MoQT server SDK in C. Every page here shows a complete program you can copy, and the output it actually printed when CI last ran it against an independent client (quic-go / webtransport-go).
Start with Hello, wired for the build command. The Concepts pages explain the design choices the samples assume: How MoQT maps media · Streams vs. datagrams · Browser requirements · What the SDK does and what the app does · Current limits.
| Layer | Pages |
|---|---|
| TLS & crypto | SHA-256 · X25519 · Certificates · TLS handshake |
| QUIC | Packet headers · UDP sockets · Server flags |
| HTTP/3 | Hello · Routing · Streaming · Static files · Status codes & headers · Streaming a POST body · Stats endpoint |
| WebTransport | Datagrams · Streams · Sessions · What a browser needs · Broadcasting · Open streams · Backpressure · Checking the Origin header · Session lifecycle |
| MoQT | Relay hub · Publish · Live track · Authorize subscribers · Datagram vs. stream delivery · Fetch past Objects · Namespace discovery · Priority and GOAWAY |
| Operations | Handshake knobs · App timers · Certificate hot reload · Graceful stop on SIGTERM |
Each layer builds on the one above it: HTTP/3 pages run QUIC and TLS underneath, WebTransport runs over HTTP/3, and MoQT over WebTransport.
For every function and struct, see the API reference. For a full application, see the moqt_chat demo.
